Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 15, 2026
Last updated: April 15, 2026
Digital Thinker Lab ("we," "our," or "us") publishes mobile applications on the Apple App Store and related platforms, collectively referred to as our "Apps." This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use any of our Apps, including Akin, ExamMate, Time Kids, and other apps we may release.
1. Overview
Our Apps are designed to provide useful features while collecting as little information as possible. We only use information that is necessary to operate, improve, secure, and support our Apps.
Specific features vary by App. This Privacy Policy applies to all Digital Thinker Lab Apps unless a particular App provides an additional privacy notice for a specific feature.
2. Information we may process
Depending on the App and the features you use, we may process the following types of information:
- Information stored on your device — such as preferences, onboarding status, progress, saved content, exam names, exam dates, subjects, study topics, study plans, timers, reminders, question progress, purchase status cache, and local settings. Much of this information may remain on your device and may not be transmitted to our servers unless a feature requires it.
- Purchase-related information — if you buy a premium unlock, free trial, subscription, or other in-app purchase, Apple processes the payment. We do not receive your full payment card details. We or a provider such as RevenueCat may process limited information to validate entitlements, restore purchases, and manage access. This may include purchase history, subscription status, entitlement status, product identifiers, app user identifiers, receipt or transaction status, country or region, app version, and basic device or app environment details.
- Notification information — if you enable reminders or notifications, we may process notification permission status, reminder settings, and device push notification tokens where required to deliver notifications.
- Diagnostics and technical information — such as app version, device model, operating system version, crash logs, performance data, and diagnostic events. This information is used to maintain performance, security, reliability, and compatibility.
- AI or cloud-assisted features — some Apps may send prompts, study topics, exam names, notes, relationship prompts, question responses, or similar inputs to service providers to generate plans, quizzes, summaries, suggestions, reminders, or other content. We aim to minimize personal data in such requests and use providers only as needed to deliver the feature. You should not enter sensitive personal information, confidential information, or information about other people into AI features unless you have permission to do so.
- Support information — if you contact us by email or through a support channel, we may process your email address, name if provided, message content, screenshots, device details, and other information you choose to send us so we can respond to your request.
3. Information we do not intentionally collect
Unless a feature explicitly requires it, our Apps do not intentionally collect contacts, photos, microphone audio, camera data, precise location, messages, or payment card details.
If a future version of an App adds a feature requiring additional data, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when that feature becomes available.
4. How we use information
We may use information to:
- Provide App features and functionality;
- Save preferences, progress, and local settings;
- Create study plans, countdowns, reminders, timers, or AI-generated content;
- Verify premium access, subscriptions, free trials, and purchases;
- Restore purchases;
- Send optional reminders or notifications you enable;
- Respond to support requests;
- Prevent abuse, fraud, or misuse;
- Fix bugs and crashes;
- Improve reliability, performance, and user experience;
- Comply with legal obligations.
5. Legal basis
Where applicable, including in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or other regions with privacy laws, we process information based on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Contract performance — to provide the App features you request;
- Legitimate interests — to maintain, improve, secure, and support our Apps;
- Consent — where required for notifications, optional features, analytics, or other processing;
- Legal obligations — where required to comply with applicable law.
6. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not use third-party advertising identifiers unless an App clearly states otherwise and obtains any required permission.
Limited information may be shared with service providers only where necessary to operate our Apps. These providers may include Apple for App Store and platform services, RevenueCat or similar purchase tools for subscriptions and entitlements, OpenAI or similar AI providers for AI-assisted features, analytics or crash reporting providers, hosting providers, infrastructure providers, and email or support providers.
Third-party providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy policies. We require service providers to process information only as needed to provide their services to us.
7. AI features
Some Apps may include AI-assisted features, such as study plans, quizzes, summaries, weak-topic review, question suggestions, reminders, or personalized content.
When you use AI features, the information you enter may be sent to an AI provider so the feature can generate a response. This may include exam names, subjects, study topics, notes, prompts, selected questions, or other content you provide.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your specific situation. You should review AI-generated content before relying on it. AI features are designed to support learning, planning, creativity, or reflection, not to replace professional advice, medical advice, legal advice, financial advice, or your own judgment.
Do not enter sensitive personal information, confidential information, or information about other people into AI features unless you have permission to do so.
8. Retention
We retain information only as long as necessary to operate our Apps, maintain purchase access, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, comply with law, and support users.
Data stored only on your device may remain until you delete the App or clear its data.
Purchase-related information may be retained as long as necessary to validate purchases, restore access, comply with App Store requirements, and maintain records.
Technical logs, crash data, and diagnostic data are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting, and improvement.
9. Deletion and your choices
You may request deletion of personal data we control by contacting hello@digitalthinkerlab.com.
If an App does not create an account for you, deletion may be limited to data held by our providers or data stored locally on your device.
You can delete locally stored App data by deleting the App from your device.
You can stop notifications at any time by changing notification permissions in your device settings.
You can manage subscriptions, cancellations, and refunds through your Apple ID and App Store settings.
10. International transfers
Information may be processed outside your country depending on the location of our service providers. Where required, we apply reasonable safeguards for international transfers of personal information.
11. Children's privacy
Our Apps are intended for users who meet the minimum age required by applicable law and the App Store listing for each App.
Some Apps may be designed for parents or guardians to manage children's routines, timers, tasks, or study activities. These Apps are intended to be used by parents or guardians, or by children under parent or guardian supervision.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without the required legal basis or parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact us at hello@digitalthinkerlab.com and we will review and delete the information where appropriate.
12. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. However, no system, service, or method of transmission is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Third-party services
Our Apps may rely on third-party services such as Apple, RevenueCat, OpenAI or similar AI providers, analytics providers, crash reporting providers, hosting providers, infrastructure providers, and support tools.
Your use of those services may also be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
14. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent or complain to a data protection authority.
To make a request, contact us at hello@digitalthinkerlab.com.
15. No sale of personal information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising unless an App clearly states otherwise and obtains any required permission.
16. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and may provide notice in an App or on our website.
